Day 5/21 cycling the entire length of Norway ????????????♂️
Nordkapp → Lindesnes.
Today was beautiful.
It was also one of the least enjoyable days on the bike so far.
150 km of road cycling through Northern Norway towards Senja — surrounded by mountains, valleys, fjords and some absolutely incredible roads.
The scenery was 10/10.
Some of the driving was not.
I had several cars pass me today with almost no space, including situations that genuinely scared me.
When you’re cycling on Norwegian roads, a few seconds of patience from a driver can make the difference between a completely normal overtake and putting someone in a very dangerous situation.
And yes, I know cyclists can be annoying.
I’m currently spending 21 days as one, so I REALLY know. ????
But we all want to get home safely.
So finding a “Share the road” sign after 100 km today felt almost suspiciously well timed.
???? ↔️ ????
Please give cyclists space when overtaking.
Beyond that, this part of Northern Norway by bike was absolutely stunning. Big climbs, strong winds, ridiculous mountains and finally making it to Senja after another long day heading south.
This Nordkapp to Lindesnes cycling challenge is taking me across the entire length of Norway over 21 days, while raising money for Mental Helse Ungdom and youth mental health ❤️
Fundraiser link is in the comments if you want to support the challenge.
And a massive thank you to Merida Nordic for sponsoring this adventure and supporting me on this 21-day ride across Norway. The Merida Scultura 9000 has now carried me from the North Cape all the way to Senja.
Day 5 done. ✅
???? 150 km
⛰️ Biggest climb: survived
???? Wind: plenty
????️ Views: ridiculous
???? Personal space: occasionally unavailable
???? Senja reached
16 days left.
The legs are tired.
Norway is still very long.
Follow for Day 6 of cycling the entire length of Norway from Nordkapp to Lindesnes ????????
