The Hvalfjörður Tunnel in Iceland is a 5.77 km (3.5 mi) long subsea road tunnel, and is the tunnel referred to as being almost 6km long. It is located about 30 km (19 mi) northwest of Reykjavik, connecting the capital area to the Snæfellsnes peninsula and Westfjords. The tunnel significantly reduces travel time by bypassing the Hvalfjörður fjord.
