Hi Everyone!

Welcome back to all those who are returning and welcome to all those who are new~

From April 25, 2023-May 5, 2023, I went to Europe with my mom! It was very spontaneous. I booked everything about a week before on April 12th. We hit 3 countries: France, Switzerland & Italy. My mom has only been to England & Iceland so she really wanted to go back and experience more.

Excluding travel days to and from Europe, we spent 2 days in France (Paris & Palace of Versailles), 3 days in Switzerland (1 day Zurich, 1 day Interlaken, 1 day Jungfrau), 4 days in Italy (1 day Lake Como, 1 Day Milan, 2 days Venice).

May 2, 2023: Woke up bright & early to store our luggage @ Stow your Bag. My mom was super ambitious & was able to store 3 carry on bags in the small locker so we can save a little bit of $ LOL. Then we took the subway straight to Duomo. Pretty quick ride over and the Duomo & Victoria Galleria was RIGHT there so we didn't really have to travel far which was nice. It wasn't crowded yet so we took the time to take photos before heading over and getting our audio guide. Honestly I was upset at the pricing b/c we felt like we got jipped (especially b/c the elevator ride was super short and there were STILL stairs). I guess I can't say much b/c idk how many stairs there really are to go up and since my knee was still in recovering i guess it was best not to stress it out. Anyways, there were no lines b/c it was so early so were able to take our time and walk around the roof/terrace before going down into the church and walking around inside. Although our ticket was all encompassing, it didn't have the dungeon part of it so we couldn't go down but it was fine b/c we spent so much time in the church and museum that we didn't need to find other things to do. I HIGHLY recommend you activating your ticket and using the FREE museum bathroom rather than paying 2 EUROS to go to the bathroom in the mall. Unless you do buy a food item, then you get to get a free bathroom pass which is worth it as well. After visiting all 3 sites with our ticket, we then ate lunch and chilled for a bit. My mom then wanted to go and "look around" the mall after awhile since we still had some time left over before our Last Supper Tour so we went to Prada. My mom really liked a wallet so we bought it but then the store employee brought us downstairs to look at bags. THATS when my mom got reeled in. She was going between two different bags and unfortunately due to time, she rushed and just picked one. We wanted to use the bathroom before heading out but unfortunately we had to go otherwise we'd be late (felt bad but what could we do). There was a family who was REALLY late and they missed the entire church tour and made it JUST in time for the Last Supper Painting. Honestly, the tour itself wasn't really worth the price. I DID learn a lot and was amazed at the grandiose of the painting itself; however, to have paid almost $65 is crazy. Unfortunately, the tour groups buy up all the tickets so they were all sold out online so this was our only option...ANYWAYS. After a long day of walking around. We took the subway back to the train station, picked up our bags and headed to the platform to go to Venice. We bought some sandwiches for dinner along the way. The train ride wasn't bad at all; it was more of the fact that when we arrived, it was rainy and Venice is truly only all bridges & alleyways so we were a bit overwhelmed. But luckily we made it to our airbnb safe & sound and was able to rest for another full day tomorrow~.

Overall, pretty busy day- productive & touristy at the same time. Definitely wished I researched more because I would've bought the Duomo tickets in person (online 3rd party was MORE expensive when normally it's cheaper), would've followed the audio guide better so that we didn't have to go back to the church, would've found out that the museum bathroom is free so we didn't have to spend $ to go to the bathroom, would've gave more free time for my mom to shop so she isn't rushed & would've tried to find cheaper last supper tickets in advance so that we didn't have to pay such an outrageous price to go see it with the tour.

Anyways! I can't wait to share with you all the different countries we explored. It was truly one for the books! I hope you enjoyed Milan! Stay tuned for more~

Definitely recommend traveling with just your parents at least once in your life. Makes you appreciate one and other & it's nice to enjoy each other's company when you're older!
