The medieval city of Visby is located in the Baltic Sea on the Swedish island Gotland and is hugely popular in summers for tourists. Since 1995 Visby has been on the UNESCO World Heritage site list. Among the most notable historical remains are the 2.1 mile long town wall that encircles the town center, as well as a number of church ruins. Visby is also known as the City of Roses.
