This is part 21 of my road trip serie 'Into the Wild North' - Iceland

Today I’m riding solo through the remote Westfjords of Iceland on my Royal Enfield Himalayan 411, crossing wild fjords, exposed coastal roads, gravel sections and a mountain pass. It’s one of my favourite regions in Iceland, with some of the most scenic and beautiful views on the island, before I stop to camp alone in one of the most remote and least visited parts of the country. This is solo motorcycle travel in Iceland at its rawest, with empty landscapes, strong wind, cliffs, cold weather and that real feeling of being completely alone on remote roads.

But the weather is changing fast. The next morning, a weather warning is issued, with strong wind, snow and dangerous road conditions ahead. What starts as a remote motorcycle camping night in the Icelandic Westfjords turns into a hurried escape, riding out before the storm fully hits and leaving behind so many places I still wanted to explore. Solo motorcycle travel, Iceland Westfjords, weather warning, motorcycle camping, Royal Enfield Himalayan 411, mountain pass, gravel roads, strong wind, snow, remote riding and wild camping in Iceland all come together in one of the most dramatic parts of this trip. The real Iceland weather is about to hit me.

Ride with me as I ride solo across ICELAND, this raw Nordic paradise, on my Royal Enfield Himalayan 411.
From the Ring Road (Route 1) to remote gravel roads and legendary F-roads, this journey is about wind, lunar landscapes, waterfalls, volcanic terrain, cliffs and endless views.
Expect real riding conditions, quiet moments, and the freedom of exploring these dramatic roads in the North Atlantic on two wheels, combined with camping, landscape photography, and the search for wildlife such as puffins along Iceland’s wild coastline.

This is where my long 'Into The Wild North' journey truly begins. Subscribe for the full Iceland motorcycle series and more future solo motorcycle adventures across Norway, and beyond!
