Join us as we leave Asheville behind and set out for Chattanooga on what we thought would be a straightforward drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The mountains, however, had other plans.

Road closures and unexpected detours sent us winding through scenic mountain roads on NC 215, adding hours to our journey but also leading us to some of the most beautiful landscapes of the trip. Along the way, we'll drive through changing weather, explore breathtaking overlooks, hike to Devil's Courthouse, and discover why sometimes the best parts of a road trip aren't on the itinerary at all.

From sunshine and blue skies to fog, wind, and clouds rolling across the ridges, this adventure reminded us that the journey is often more memorable than the destination.
