Nine months. Seven continents. More than 60 countries. ????????

On 10 December 2023, Royal Caribbean's Serenade of the Seas left Miami on the 274-night Ultimate World Cruise, the longest voyage the line has ever offered.

????️ The route:
1. The Americas & Antarctica: Mexico (Chichén Itzá), Rio de Janeiro for New Year's Eve, around Cape Horn to Antarctica, up past Peru to Los Angeles.
2. Asia & the Pacific: Tahiti, New Zealand, Australia's Great Barrier Reef, the Philippines, Hong Kong, China (Great Wall), Japan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, India (Taj Mahal), arriving in Dubai in May 2024.
3. The twist: attacks on ships in the Red Sea made the Suez Canal route unsafe, so passengers voted to sail around Africa instead: Seychelles, Madagascar, Mauritius, South Africa (Cape Town), Namibia, Angola, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal, the Canary Islands, Gibraltar, Greece and Italy.
4. Home stretch: Northern Europe, Scandinavia, Iceland, Greenland, Canada, Bermuda and the Bahamas, back to Miami on 10 September 2024.

???? Price per person (full cruise, double occupancy): inside cabin from $59,999, balcony from $82,949, junior suite from $117,599, plus $4,667 in taxes and fees. That's roughly $220 a night for the cheapest cabin. The full cruise included business-class flights, drinks, wifi, gratuities and laundry. Shorter segments started from about $13,400. About 70% of cabins were booked within a week of going on sale.
