Stay for the drinking tap clips ????
Tips for saving money in Iceland
1. Rent a Car: renting a car and having the freedom to explore is actually cheaper than taking multiple day tours by bus. Plus you’ll have to arrange a ride from the airport to your hotel by bus or taxi. Taxis are SO EXPENSIVE in Iceland ???????? plus you’ll be able to see more and you can avoid other large crowds at the amazing sites by traveling on your own time
2. Rent from they don’t have any hidden fees and they’re located both at the airport AND in downtown Reykjavik. They only rent new cars and have studded tires in the winter to help you grip the roads. Their customer service is OUTSTANDING, trust me I have heard horror stories from people in iceland who rented from other sources. As a bonus, get a discount if you rent from my link in my profile ????
3. The gas station sandwiches. I would never recommend to pick up a sammy like this in the US or even Tenerife ???? but in Iceland these pre packaged wraps and sammys SLAP! plus they save you so much time, you don’t have to stop at a restaurant that is in a random location and wait a long time for food. I love grabbing a snack, collab, and sandwich from a gas station to have on road trips for lunch!
4. Don’t buy bottled water. Seriously the water in iceland, both from rivers and the Tap is SO COLD and SO FRESH!! It will be the best water you ever had. TRUST ME!!! save your money and the planet and bring your own reusable bottle.
This post does contain affiliate links, meaning if you book with my link, at no extra cost to you (I fact, you get a discount ????) I will receive a tiny commission. This helps me continue to bring you free resources and content from Iceland. Can’t thank you enough for being here and for using my links. Multiple times I have had people messaging me saying they wished they booked with Blue Car because they had such a bad experience with their other one they book. I promise you I only recommend companies I trust in Iceland ☺️
And if I were Icelandic I might even say Samstarf ✌????
