WHAT'S IN THIS ITINERARY
Day 1 opens at Perlan on Öskjuhlíð hill, with the world's first indoor ice cave as its centrepiece. Follow with the Áróra planetarium — an 8K Northern Lights simulation. Allow 2.5 to 3 hours.

Hallgrímskirkja is a five-minute taxi ride into the city centre. The 73-metre church is the tallest building in the country. The tower lift (ISK 1,400 adults, ISK 200 for children 7–16) gives the best elevated city view available.

Then Svarta Kaffið — the original bread bowl soup restaurant in Iceland, walk-in only, two soups daily, free refills available
.
The afternoon is the Lava Show. Real lava superheated to 1,100°C is poured into the showroom in front of the audience. 60–75 minutes. Recommended age 5 and over.

Day 2 starts at Sandholt Bakery, then walks to the Old Harbour for whale watching in Faxaflói Bay. Choose a large traditional boat over a RIB for families.

Lunch directly from the boat at Kaffivagninn. The afternoon continues along the waterfront via Harpa Concert Hall (free entry) and the Sun Voyager sculpture, then Laugardalslaug geothermal pool for the afternoon.

The video also covers the Hreyfill taxi app, Bónus and Krónan supermarkets, Iceland's tap water (refillable bottles throughout), and a full two-day budget breakdown for a family of four.
