Hiking Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) is one of the most popular hiking trails in Norway. The view over the Lysefjord from the Pulpit Rock plateau is an incredible experience with a spectacular view at 1,982 meters above sea level.

The trail starts at the Preikestolen Fjellstue mountain hut. Round trip hike takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.

The Preikestolen trail is very busy and you will probably share it with many hikers. To avoid the crowds, you can start the hike at early morning and reach the summit to experience a great view and to avoid crowd. Be sure to wear hiking boots as there are some rocky sections along the way. This hike is relatively easy compared to other hikes in Norway. Check the weather forecast before embarking on this hike (refer to below link)

Parking: There is a large parking lot at Preikestolen Fjellstue.

Rental equipment: There is a store near by parking area to rent hiking equipment such as jackets, shoe, crampons etc.
