POLKABJØRN & KLEINE HEINE - live & akustisch

A random performance at a yodeling festival in Huttwil, Switzerland, in the summer of 2007 resulted in the duo Polkabjørn & Kleine Heine. Polkabjørn is not only the best yodeler in northern Europe, he is also a decent throat singer since studying with the world renowned quartet Huun-Huur-Tu.
Kleine Heine was already as a 14 year old a well established jazz musician and is now studying at the Grieg academy of music in Bergen, Norway. Heine has also proved himself to be a song writer with their new single " I like to ski", which was recorded as a
highly unofficial FIS NORDIC WORLD SKI CHAMPIONSHIP OSLO 2011 song, where they also opened the medal ceremony every day.
The shock was as big for Polkabjørn & Kleine Heine as to the rest of the world, when they in August 2010 were announced as the official warm up act for the Norwegian part of the A-Ha farewell stadium tour. As Polkabjørn later commented: " We have played
for many people before who did not come to se us perform, maybe thousands over the years, but never this many at once."
Their repertoire is varied and includes yodeling from Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Who for example does not remember the 1942 hit; Mein Vater ist ein Appenzeller? If the mood is right they might even play a funeral song, or some Ricky Nelson.
Despite ongoing rumors of internal difficulties related to alcohol and drugs, the duo claim that they are more " fit for fight" than ever and that they are prepared to blow the roof of any arena, anywhere, at any time. The only thing you can be sure of is that
Polkabjørn & Kleine Heine is a duo you cannot prepare for.
