CHAPTER 9 :: LANDMANNALAUGAR
Landmannalaugar is a geological phenomenon. The thermal activity is strong with piping hot vents pretty much everywhere. And that’s not even the best part. It’s as if the Master’s hand took his entire pallet of color and graced this mountain range with all of it. And only from this vantage point can you really appreciate the glory of it.

This sport offers many opportunities to think about a lot of things while flying. Like, what would I do if I had to land on a glacier, or over a river with a waterfall, but this may be the first time I have had to contemplate what it may be like to be boiled to death. It’s crazy I know, but we’re flying over boiling hot pots that could do the job pretty quick.

This journey over Iceland has been a wonder beyond measure. But Franke was right, what really ended up sinking in was being able to do it with this new human connection. To my friends, thank you.
