Paul Madden of Xplorer Yachts presents a Purchase Opportunity for 81m / 267 ft Rolls-Royce designed ice-class global expedition yacht, which is an unfinished project. Hull and superstructure have been built in Norway and all engineering and specs have been refined for expedited completion.
The vessel is based upon this ocean-proven ice-class Icelandic Coast Guard patrol vessel. The Rolls-Royce UT 512L design, a multipurpose offshore patrol vessel, most notably used by the Icelandic Coast Guard for its flagship vessel, the ICGV Þór (Thor). This type of vessel is designed for a range of duties including search and rescue, emergency towing, and pollution prevention, particularly in challenging Arctic conditions.
In her current configuration she is able to host 14 guests in seven cabins, with up to 27 crew. Her design features a fully certified
helideck as well as ample storage for toys, tenders and water equipment
and a submarine garage. An optional hangar is able to store a Eurocopter
135 model (or similar) with a refueling system below the deck.
and a huge range of 10,500nm. The yacht is now ready and waiting for
her new owner to add their stamp and style. Alterations are possible to both
the general arrangement and to guest cabin numbers, with the theme and
décor for her impressive 1400m2 of interior also able to be fully customized.
Boasting a 14.6m beam and huge spaces inside and out, highlights
include a 225m2 owner suite with 360 degree views across the ocean.
A swimming pool, sauna, Hammam spa and gym are included.
Government patrol vessels must navigate in all seas, in all weather conditions, year-round.
They require proven systems with onboard redundancies in order to stay at sea and complete their mission. The most capable Expedition Yachts and Yacht Support Vessels are based on commercial hulls built by commercial shipyards. If your MISSION requires a rugged global expedition yacht, or a versatile multi-mission support vessel, then Xplorer Yachts will spec out the right vessel to meet your needs - either as a conversion or as a new-build.
Why clients choose Xplorer Yachts:
We handle a project from 'the idea' and 'the mission', through design and conversion to delivery and setting up ongoing vessel management and charter program.
We deal direct with vessel owners and shipyards, avoiding 'brokers' and middlemen.
Most of our available commercial vessels are not listed as 'for sale' on Yachtworld, Apollo Duck or any other MLS platform.
We know what we are talking about.
