2-3 days would be a great amount of time. In summer you could even spend 5 days ????
There is SO MUCH to see and do in the area. Tons of hikes and places to see like glacier tongues up close!
The only drawback is that there aren’t too many accommodation places in the area so make sure to book that ahead of time before they al sell out. Or if you’re up for more adventure, then rent a Camper van and stay at the Skaftafell National Park camp ground. They have some of the nicest facilities like bathrooms, showers, and sinks to wash your dishes!
Do you have this area on your Iceland itinerary?
