Blue or green — which side is your country on? iPhone and Android face off on an animated world map. We compare neighboring countries, rewind ten years, and reveal why a country can keep its color while the balance changes underneath. Stay to the end: this rivalry did not always have just two sides.

METRIC
We compare iOS and Android shares of mobile web page views recorded across Statcounter's network of websites. iOS represents the iPhone side. These figures are not phone sales, ownership totals, unique users or survey preferences. Original shares include other mobile operating systems; the two competitors are not rescaled to sum to 100%.

Snapshots: August 2016, August 2021 and August 2026. Data downloaded October 25, 2026. Historical snapshots show the leader on those dates, not an exact or permanent switching date. The worldwide total combines recorded page views, rather than giving every country one vote.

Which country surprised you? Does your phone match your country's color? Tell us in the comments, and subscribe to Global Faceoff for more animated comparisons!
