How we did Iceland for under $1,000pp ✈️????

????️ 3 day road trip | $996

✈️ Flight | $352 (one way)

Used miles to book my flight ???????? Since Iceland was the first stop on a 2 month trip, I only had to buy a one way ticket, which saved a lot

???? Rental Car | Gas | Parking | $145

I checked prices a few days to a week before leaving and saw a big price drop, so I rebooked.

Since there were 2 of us, we split everything, which helped a ton

???? Groceries | Eating Out | $55

We went to a discounted grocery store right by the airport and only ate out once

We were literally eating leftover pasta, tuna, and hella sandwiches lol, but it kept costs LOW

????️ Accommodation | $181

Stayed in hostels, which honestly made a huge difference with the budget

✨ Activities | $263

This was the most expensive part and I didn’t want to skip these experiences

• Blue Lagoon
• Hrunalaug Hot Spring
• Silfra Fissure snorkeling

I do wish we had more time to hike a glacier, though ????

???? Overall

For 3 days in Iceland, this really wasn’t bad at all. I honestly just wish we had stayed longer.

Other than paying for parking, most waterfalls were free, gas wasn’t bad, and staying in hostels saved us so much. Being able to use miles for my flight was also a huge saver

If you’re worried about Iceland being too expensive, I promise it’s possible to do it on a budget ????
