One sick passenger. One diverted plane. By the next evening, the people of that cabin are in 19 cities, and nobody knows they are carrying anything.

This is a day-by-day simulation of a realistic zombie-like outbreak. A new virus jumps from a fur farm in Finland to a veterinary inspector, who boards a transatlantic flight to Chicago. Over the Denmark Strait he stops recognising anyone, the captain diverts to Keflavík, and 295 passengers are rebooked onto 41 flights. Watch two counters: INFECTED · REAL is what the simulation knows; INFECTED · OFFICIAL is what the world knows. The gap between them is the story.

Fictional scenario. Places, distances and timings are real; the people, the airline, the virus and the events are invented. The spread is computed with a simulation on real population and airport data.
