POV: You're a tourist in Iceland and you think you're dressed for your day tour… until you’re judged by a local.

So if you're visiting Iceland this winter, here's what you actually need to pack for your adventures.

1. Thermal base layers – Merino wool or thermal underwear to keep you warm.
2. A warm mid-layer – A fleece or wool sweater for extra insulation.
3. A waterproof & windproof jacket – Probably the most important layer!
4. Waterproof outer pants – Very important for the rainy days
5. Waterproof hiking boots – With good grip, because paths can get very slippery.
6. Gloves, a warm hat & wool socks – If your hands are cold, you’re gonna be freezing
7. A small day bag – Bring water, snacks, and extra layers. Just in case.

And here's a little Iceland travel hack:
You don't actually have to buy all your winter gear!

Our friends at Iceland Cover let you rent outdoor clothing here in Iceland, so you can stay warm and prepared without buying a whole new winter wardrobe for one trip!

Because trust me, you'll enjoy those waterfalls a lot more when you're not freezing.

SAVE this packing list for your Iceland trip! ????????????

Are you visiting the winter time?
