#37 The Holy City of Varanasi (Scam Exposed) ????????

The holy city of Varanasi is located in the Uttarakhand region and lies on the west bank of the Ganges river. The city has a population of about 1.75 million inhabitants. There are a lot of great tourist places in the city and it is also very photogenic, especially next to Ganges river.

We stayed there for five days and had a great time. Unfortunately I got food poisoning, so for one whole day I was recovering in our hotel. In this vlog we show you from two of the days where we explored parts of the city and some of the highlights like Manikarnika Ghat, Dashashwamedh Ghat and Assi Ghat.

It was very nice walking along the Ganges river, enjoying the views and talking to the locals. The city is also unique in terms of religion and culture. However, we didn't like all the scams in the city - probably the city in India where we have witnessed most scams. One of the scams, which happens in Manikarnika Ghat, I managed to get on video. In the vlog I also show you the The Ganga Aarti (ritual of offering prayer to the Ganges river) which takes place every day and starts soon after sunset.

The hotel we stayed at is called Sugar Stars Inn and I can highly recommend staying there. It is a bit outside of the center but it costs only 100 INR to get into the center with a Tuktuk from the hotel.

Overall we had a great time in Varanasi and the city is a must visit if you are in India - just beware of the scams!
