Nordkapp in Norway is the northernmost point of continental Europe at 71°N latitude, where the sun does not set for 76 days during the summer. The cliff is 307 meters high above the Arctic Ocean, and the winter darkness lasts 2.5 months. The temperature can drop to -30°C, but the northern lights make a spectacle from September to March.

Tourists regularly report that compasses go crazy due to the proximity of the magnetic pole, pointing to the wrong north. The people themselves believe that at the top of the cliff there is a "door to another world" where the souls of ancestors gather. The strangest thing is that on the cliff you can sometimes see pillars of light that stretch vertically into the sky without the aurora borealis - a phenomenon that meteorologists call the "Nordkapp light."
