At the very top of Scotland, there’s a wild and beautiful island that feels like the edge of the world. In this Scotland travel video, I take the Shetland ferry north to the Isle of Unst, the northernmost inhabited island in the UK.

Along the way, I visit a very windy Scottish Castle, explore Norse longhouse ruins, walk along white-sand beaches, and see where Vikings in Scotland once lived. I also stop at the Unst Heritage Centre, the Shetland Boat Haven, and see in the distance the SaxaVord Spaceport, the UK’s first vertical rocket launch site!

From ancient Shetland Islands history to modern-day island life, this trip shows what it’s really like on a remote Scottish island.
