Crossing a flooded trail section, I met Steffen, a German cyclist who introduced me to a Denmark-only app called Shelter. Two nights later I found myself at my first shelter — the focus of this video.

Set among forest patches and pasture near the Omme Å River, the site was simple, quiet, and wonderful. In this entry I also reflect on the ride from Larvik to here — battling Denmark’s wind and hills — and on my approach to 54°N latitude, a personal marker of progress tied to my earlier Climate Zero expedition.

This was more than just a night’s rest: it was a reminder of how tips from fellow travelers can reshape the journey, and how small milestones keep me moving south with purpose.
