The Norwegians are still here, and America keeps getting deeper. Part one covered the prices, the portions and the talking — this is part two of Norway's American discovery tour, self-filmed by Norwegian World Cup visitors and expats from Times Square to Texas, with English subtitles on every Norwegian clip. New territory this time: the candy wall, the supercenter, the tipping screen, the American streets, and the moment Americans started discovering they're Norwegian right back.

It starts in the candy aisle, and to understand the damage you need one Norwegian word: Lørdagsgodt. Saturday candy. Norway eats sweets one day a week, in controlled portions, by unwritten national agreement — and then its citizens walked into forty meters of American candy on a random Tuesday. The taste tests were merciless: a chocolate bar debated against Snickers in the most polite unresolved argument ever filmed, an American classic that "tastes like nothing," and a sour gel dessert reviewed with the single most devastating sentence in Scandinavian food criticism. In a culture where "good" is the maximum compliment, the insults are full sentences.

Then the supercenter: aluminum foil that sounds like Illuminati, motorized shopping carts ("shopping go-karts") with charging infrastructure, cheese sections longer than Norwegian streets, and the careful scientific question one fan finally asked Americans — do you really buy groceries only once a week? The language trap gets its own chapter, starring the greatest accidental invention of the tournament: the "fire distinguisher," a typo so useful Americans started using it on purpose. Plus the streets (Norwegian pedestrian crossings versus the American version, described calmly as "playing with your life"), Los Angeles processed through the Law of Jante, and the tipping screen — thirty percent on the low end — dismantled by Norwegian arithmetic.

And then the flip side, the part that belongs to America: 4.5 million Americans of Norwegian descent waking up mid-tournament. The ancestry fractions ("I'm one twentieth Irish, so top of the morning"), the lutefisk dinners preserved in Minnesota like a living museum, lefse recipes unchanged since 1880, time-capsule Norwegian dialects alive in Wisconsin, and the realization that a piece of Norway has been living in the Midwest for 150 years, waiting for a reason to row. The honest part closes it out, as always: the sugar, the portions, the pedestrian gamble, the air conditioning — every complaint ending in a plan to come back.
