Norwegian Coast Guard's Project 6615 large ice-strengthened hull Jan Mayen class patrol boat KV JAN MAYEN (HULL 910 - IMO 9911575) passed through Istanbul on August 8, 2021 while under tow of tug Fairplay 35 (IMO 9565194) from Vard Tulcea, Romania to Vard Langsten, Norway for completion and outfitting. The P6615-class vessels will operate in the Arctic zone and will replace the ageing Nordkapp-class coast guard ships.
