???????? NORWAY: We swap our campervan Chlôe for a ship as our incredible Arctic coastal voyage begins!

Welcome back to Narki on Tour! ❤️

After exploring Norway in our campervan, it's time for a completely different adventure.

We leave Chlôe behind and step aboard the Havila Pollux for an unforgettable 4-day, 3-night coastal voyage through Northern Norway, travelling from Tromsø to Kirkenes and back along one of the most spectacular coastlines in the world.

We say a fond farewell to Tromsø and set sail into the Arctic waters, surrounded by dramatic mountains, endless coastline and some truly breathtaking scenery.

Our first port of call is Skjervøy, a traditional Norwegian fishing village and historic trading post.

Sadly, our stop is too brief for us to go ashore, but we explain why this little coastal community has played such an important role in Norway's maritime history.

Next, we arrive at Havøysund, another short stop on our journey. We make the most of life aboard the ship, settling down in the cosy lounge with a coffee beside a wonderfully realistic fire, complete with flickering flames and the sound of crackling logs. Sometimes it's the little things!

Our voyage then brings us to Honningsvåg, the gateway to the famous North Cape (Nordkapp), one of Europe's most northerly mainland destinations.

We decide not to take the excursion to the North Cape plateau and instead explore the fascinating town, discovering local artwork, displays of enormous king crabs and glimpses of life in this remote corner of Norway.

As we continue north, we pass the coastal communities of Vardø and Vadsø before finally reaching Kirkenes, our furthest point east and the turnaround point of this incredible coastal journey.

But it's the journey itself that really steals our hearts. Endless stretches of rugged Norwegian coastline, towering mountains, beautiful Arctic sunsets and the ever-changing scenery make this voyage something truly special.

And then there's the moment we pass the returning Hurtigruten ship! The traditional blast of the ships' horns is all part of the maritime experience… although Nikki might disagree after nearly jumping out of her skin! ????

This is just the beginning of our Havila coastal voyage, and we have so much more to share. In our next episode, we explore Kirkenes and discover why our stop in Hammerfest gives us far more than we ever bargained for!
