2021 has been a special year, After almost a year and half of partial lockdown.. we could travel again... However, we decided to stay in Norway and go further north for Summer holidays. We will travel to best places in Lofoten. The Lofoten Islands are characterized by their mountains and peaks, sheltered inlets, stretches of seashore and large virgin areas which made up for an incredible road trip.

This video features fishing village Henningsvær. Henningsvær is one of the most popular destinations in Lofoten.

Henningsvær, a town in Lofoten, on the small, relatively flat islands Heimøy and Hellandsøy, just southwest of Austvågøy in Vågan municipality, Nordland. In 1934, the islands were connected with a jetty, and Henningsvær became a good port for the fishing fleet and was for a long time a dominant fishing village and fishing reception in Lofoten.

You should make the trip past Heiavatnet (189 masl) on the way up Festvågtinden

Heiavatnet was previously Henningsvær's drinking water source. The water went in pipes down the steep mountainside to the water reservoir from which you can still see the foundation wall. The fishermen transported water from here to Henningsvær by boat. Today, Heiavatnet is Henningsværingen's small water park, on good summer days the water temperature can reach 18 degrees. You have not been properly on top of Festvågtind before taking a refreshing bath here!
