This week I'm travelling along the rugged north coast of Spain, chasing light between Atlantic storms. From dramatic skies and coastal winds to fleeting moments of beautiful golden light, this stretch of northern Spain delivers everything a landscape photographer could hope for.

I'm loving it here. Although perhaps it would be good if the wind would calm down a little bit.

Travelling by campervan, exploring quiet coastal villages, wild beaches and cliff-top viewpoints all while navigating unpredictable weather. Some days pinned down by heavy rain. Other days, the light breaks through — low, moody and full of atmosphere.

A little bit about us ..

Is it possible to TRAVEL YOURSELF HAPPY? Let's find out !

We are the Cookes, Nicola, and Nigel. We love to travel. In 2018 we bought and converted a VW Transporter van and spent 3 years traveling around the UK and Ireland. At the time we also travelled with our beloved cat, Guinness. She was 20. Sadly we lost Guinness in Feb of 2020 and then well the rest of the world went to pot.

Early 2023 we sold our property back in Ireland and hit the road full time. Since then we have visited 23 different countries in the van including Norway, Greece, Slovenia and Estonia.

This channel will primarily focus on our travels, with the odd smattering of photography and food thrown in for good measure.
