It's my last full real day of excursion here in Kyrgyzstan. And, my buddy Backpacker Steve is around still. So, we have a full day of adventure planned. Actually, maybe more adventure planned that we really wanted.
We were told by the guest house here in Jyrgalan that we'd be going on a bit of a horse ride today. We were told that it would be a fairly easy bit of horse trekking up to a lake near the town. However, I think it was a much harder ride than we bargained for. In fact, much of it I couldn't really film just because we were smashing along pretty intensely. At one point, we had to get off the horses and lead them down an incredibly steep hill. At another point, we had to smash through a bit of a forest. Actually one of the horses escaped at one point and the Kyrgyz cowboys spent about 45 minutes chasing it to try to catch it again. It definitely wasn't an easy ride, and certainly was a bit of adventure.
Also, Steve has ridden horses before but it still quite beginner, so it was a bit too heavy a ride for that skill level.
But, it will be one of those days we laugh about in the time to come.
And, eventually we made it up the mountain to the lake which had been our horse trekking goal.
The way down the hill was much less adventurous, and we made it back to Jyrgylan completely worn out and sore. So, we thought that we were due some junk food. The horse trekking really wore us out, so we deserved to splurge on Coca-Cola and ice cream.
In the evening, we went out in Jyrgalan to shoot some photography. And, while the light really wasn't good, it was nice to get the camera and lens out on Kyrgyzstan one last time before ending this journey.
Tomorrow, I have one last travel vlog from Kyrgyzstan before making the journey back to The UK and London.
