Urban ecosystems are more than just concrete landscapes with dense human populations. Natural wonder can be found almost anywhere, from parks and other green spaces to office buildings, homes, and even landfills. Join leading scientists for a fascinating discussion on the flora, fauna, and geography just outside our doors in environments like New York City. Learn about how plants, animals, and even fungi have been shaped by, and contribute to the biodiversity of, urban areas created by humans.

Featuring: Jessica Allen, assistant professor of biology at Eastern Washington University; James Lendemer, assistant professor of biology at the CUNY Graduate Center and associate curator of the Institute of Systematic Botany at the New York Botanical Garden; Andrew Reinmann, assistant professor of geography at Hunter College and in the Environmental Sciences Initiative of the Advanced Science Research Center; and Jessica Ware, assistant curator in the Division of Invertebrate Zoology at the American Museum of Natural History.
