Standing at the edge of Europe where the midnight sun refuses to set.
The North Cape of Norway! It's been 40+ years since I was last here as a 12-year-old with my parents and grandmother. Now I'm back with my partner, and this 180-degree view of endless ocean has me thinking about perspective in a whole new way.
I'm convinced there are whales out there somewhere, even though they're not revealing themselves to me. But isn't that just like life? So much happening beyond what we can actually see.
What struck me most wasn't just the vastness, but the light. In the land of the midnight sun, everything is illuminated, not just what's directly in front of you, but what's to the left, right, east, west. Full visibility in every direction.
How different would our decisions be if we could see our lives this way? Not just the path ahead or what's behind us, but the full panoramic view of possibilities surrounding us at any moment.
Sometimes we make choices based on such a narrow field of vision. We see the immediate challenge or opportunity directly ahead and miss what's approaching from the sides. We focus on what we've left behind instead of noticing what's emerging all around us.
This moment reminded me: maybe the goal isn't to have all the answers, but to seek the highest vantage point we can find.
Where could you climb higher for a better view of your life?
