Why would I choose to ride more than 5,000 miles across eight countries, spend 24 days living from a motorcycle and travel all the way from Plymouth to the Arctic?
In this week's episode of The Long Road to Nordkapp, I explain why I've chosen Nordkapp, Norway, as the destination for my 2027 solo motorcycle expedition, and why this adventure means much more to me than simply reaching the northern tip of Europe.
On 12 June 2027, I'll leave Plymouth on my 2021 Kawasaki Versys 1000 GT, heading through Europe and Scandinavia towards Nordkapp, high above the Arctic Circle. I'll then make the long journey home through Sweden and Denmark.
But this isn't just about the destination.
It's about the challenge of travelling thousands of miles alone, living from a motorcycle, wild camping, facing unpredictable weather and discovering what it takes to complete an expedition of this scale.
????️ RIDING FOR VETERANS IN ACTION
As an RAF veteran, supporting the veteran community is something that matters personally to me.
The Long Road to Nordkapp is being undertaken in support of Veterans in Action, helping raise awareness of the organisation and its work with veterans and their families.
Along the route, I'll also be visiting places of military remembrance, taking time to reflect on those who served and sacrificed.
