Hiking in Norway: Reinebringen (a LONG set of stairs)

I departed Southern Norway and flew North to the Lofoten Islands. My first hike there was just outside the town of Reine to the mountain called Reinebringen. It rises 1470ft above the ocean.

It is a very long set of stairs. While short in distance, it's quite steep, though not very technical. It's very popular and parking is difficult to find. I had to park at the local art museum and walk about another 1.5 miles to the trail head.

Strangely, on Reinebringen, I met people from all over the world, but I didn't meet any Americans.

Reinebringen Lofoten Norway | hiking adventure

Reinebringen is located at North of Norway in Lofoten island with 1600 steps up to the top. The view is amazing.

This place is just unreal, magic and impressive. To me every one that loves nature and have taste for beautiful places should visit and enjoy.

The 1500 step hike up is fairly easy now after Sherpas from Nepal built an impressive trail up to the top. That is unless you bring a 20 kg backpack, and intend to stay the night. But when the sun rises it is all worth it.

EXPLORING LOFOTEN 2020, ROAD TRIP TO REINE
We are on our day 3 of vacation in Lofoten. Today, we are exploring Lofoten to its dead end.

Lofoten is known for excellent fishing, nature attractions such as the northern lights and the midnight sun, and small villages off the beaten track. Kayak between the islands, go fishing for the catch of your life, or look for sea eagles soaring in the sky.

Exploring Lofoten should be one of ur bucket list in 2021. If you want to explore Lofoten in the summer, remember to bring warm clothes, as it gets cold during the night even though the sun is still up 24hrs.

If you are seeking unforgettable nature experiences, Lofoten will definitely not let you down. Due to the area’s diverse landscape, you can go hiking, skiing, fishing, ocean rafting or scuba diving. Lofoten is also one of the world’s northernmost sites for surfing and one of the best spots in Norway.

EXPLORING LOFOTEN 2020, ROAD TRIP TO REINE
There is always a bus available, due to corona virus, they don't accept payment via cash or card, you have to download billet nordland app. There are two airports in lofoten, one from svolvær and one from leknes. there is also one in Eveness, near Harstad, so exploring Lofoten is easy and convenient. If you wanna check bus times, go to 177nordland.no

Hiking in Norway: Kjeragbolten (standing on a boulder 3,228ft above a fjord!)

After Preikestolen, we were really cold and wet, so decided to take the next day to explore the town of Stavanger. The next day, we did the hike for Kjerag, the highest peak in Lysefjorden. Wedged 3,228ft above, is a rock named Kjeragbolten.

It looks like I lost my balance when stepping on Kjeragbolten, but it was just because I focused on taking careful steps instead of keeping my video steady. The GoPro's image stabilization made it seem like I was off balance. Safety first!

We thought we had escaped the rain, but it came back for the first part of the hike. Going with a tour group has it's advantages and disadvantages. We met some cool people in the group and it was nice to have a guide to do the path finding, but there was less time to take pictures and hang out.
